Shortly after it was posted, her friends responded with anger and expressed their concerns over cruelty to animals. Katie then continued her rant and admits to doing this to her dog and is not bothered by the emotional outburst by her friends, immediately dismissing her own actions without guilt and responding, “Don’t Panic!”. 
Her posts were shared across social media and instantly went viral. A veterinarian commented on the post and stated it is a cruel act to be duct taping dogs muzzle shut as it can tear and rip their skin apart. Duct taping your dogs mouth is never a solution to stop them from barking. It is animal cruelty. If you are not fond of them from barking, there are humane ways to effectively stop them from barking loud or simply hand over your dog to a better caretaker.
Numerous of calls has been made to Daytona police department and animal control from the city. They are currently looking for her location and will investigate this matter further. They are aware of this situation and suggest please to not notify them about it due to overwhelming of calls and emails. Thank you for everyone reporting to the police.
