The Framing of Assistant Chief Anita Najiy

Basically, the story we’ve heard is that the woman in the video to the right is not saluting the American flag during the pledge of Allegiance due to the fact that she is a Muslim.  Is this true though?  What factual information are these claims based on?

1. During military ceremonies, soldiers will not recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
2. At official functions, social events, and sporting events, soldiers should:
   1. When in uniform, outdoors, stand at attention, remain silent, face the flag, and render the hand salute.
   2. When in uniform, indoors, stand at attention, remain silent, and face the flag.
   3. When in civilian attire, stand at attention, face the flag with the right hand over the heart and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Headgear should be removed with the right hand and held over the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart.

She was following the exact protocol that is taught on ArmyStudyGuide.com.  She did post about supporting homeless veterans around the same time of the video. It doesn’t really make sense why she would post two times about helping homeless veterans and then disrespect the flag intentionally. It is also worth mentioning that several stories refer to her as a “Veteran”, but we have been unable to confirm if this is because she was in the military or if they are using the word to describe experience.

The truth is there is not enough information to determine if she did this for religious purposes let alone with the intent of disrespect. She was posting about feeding homeless veterans and how happy she was for a cause that did just that the same week. Why would she turn around and do this as a sign of disrespect right after?

The local 10 news claims she was acting out of proper military code, which she did post a lot about during this week:

This is nothing short of Journalistic character assassination based on rumors. If Anita is a Muslim, it appears to have no influence over her actions in the flag video and is completely irrelevant. She did warn us about single cell ISIS terrorist attacks in the USA 7 months prior. If religion was an issue, wouldn’t it also not allow her to warn us of an attack?

Anita also appears to respect the military and appreciate them, as she makes several pro military tweets on her twitter account. She respects police and prays for fallen officers. She is active in her community and attends several events aimed at improving relations between citizens and police. She also supports several causes like cancer charities and stopping domestic violence.

That doesn’t mean I personally agree with everything Anita tweets.  Anita does appear to be for stricter gun control, but just because I disagree with her on some issues doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the outstanding job she does as a police officer.   The tries to improve relations between police and civilians and is very active in her local community.   In those areas Anita sets an example of police officers nationwide to follow.

You know, I don’t really like Pepsi personally, that doesn’t mean I go running out of a store screaming when someone orders one ahead of me in line. If people disagree with Islam, it doesn’t make them Islamaphobic. If this were true, we could call most Liberal media Christianaphobic.

Implying that conservatives are racist and islamaphobic based on this shoddy piece of journalistic character assassination is racist and quite honestly, ridiculous.
