ADA, Oklahoma — Marteen Silas illegally Euthanized a neighbors Husky at the PAWS clinic where she worked. Silas claims the dog was chasing her cows and it got a white tailed deer:
“Because it was chasing our cows and it was chasing our horses. It got my mom’s white tailed deer. My mom had a white-tailed deer in a fence and it had it pulling it through the fence.” -Marteen Silas
A worker at the clinic recorded her saying that in response to questioning why she euthanized a perfectly healthy husky. Silas now suddenly forgets saying that, However, she did admit that a dog harassed her mother’s white tail dear in the past.
Salinas also laughed at the owner when they came to the clinic looking for the dog:
“She (the owner) acted really concerned, and said that she would be looking for it and would call him if she’s seen it,” the employee said. “And then when he left, she (Salinas) turned around to all the employees and just smiled at everybody.”
Marteen Silas has been charged with animal cruelty and larceny of a dog valued at more than $500. SHe faces a maximum of five years in prison and a fine of no more than $5,000 for each offense.
