The Westboro Baptist Church protested Beau Biden’s funeral this past Saturday. They sang Anti Gay songs and held up signs that said “America was doomed”.  At one point in time, A veteran by the name of Richard Pierce noticed one of the WBC protestors dragging an American flag on the ground.  He instantly threw hot coffee at them.
“What I did, I would not suggest anyone else do that. I acted very childish and foolish and if I had to do it over again I would do it again in a minute, I’m a combat Marine. You can’t tell a combat Marine anything.”
After reading in the newspaper that the Westboro Baptist Church was going to protest Biden’s funeral Richard felt compelled to counter protest:
“I did not approve of them coming to protest the funeral of Beau Biden. I am not a great Biden fan. I have not voted for either Biden, but he is an honorable individual and I’ve been reading all over the place what a great individual he is. I could not in my right mind let those people come in and distract from the grieving and what everyone else had to say.”
Richard stood with 100 other protestors that came to protest the 3 – 5 people that showed up for the Westboro Baptist Church.  The situation escalated when Richard noticed one protestor dragging the American flag. A Witness claimed he said “he wanted to share his coffee with them”.  One woman was hit in the side, another grazed, and a third escaped coffee free.
“When I saw that I snapped, I guess, mentally,” he said. “I went to Vietnam to give them the right to demonstrate. The First Amendment gives them to right to demonstrate. I understand that. Just because I don’t like what they’re doing, I know I should not have done what I did. I guess I had to demonstrate my displeasure.”
Even though the woman hit with the coffee refused to press charges, the Police still arrested Richard.  He spent 6 hours in prison until he was released.  When he got home his wife wasn’t surprised!
“God d—– I knew that would happen. I am not surprised one bit”
The WestBoro Baptist Church was ramped up their efforts to desecrate the US flag recently.  There have been recent videos released showing them teaching their own children hatred for the flag.  Other videos show them throwing flags on the ground.  They also used the event to incite hatred for the US Marines.
